Taxonomic notes arc provided for seven species of hymenosomatid crabs from various parts of China. Of these, one species, Elamena rostrata, is described as new. Elamenopsis ariakensis (Sakai, 1969), previously regarded as a Japanese endemic, is recorded in China for the first time. The taxonomy of Elamena longidactylis Yang and Sun, 1998, Halicarcinus messor (Stimpson, 1858), H. setirostris (Stimpson, 1858), Neorhynchoplax introversa (Kemp, 1917) and N. sinensis (Shen, 1932) is also discussed.
